FEBRUARY 1, 2008

Todd is still in the Cardiac Care Center Unit. Everyday Todd has x-rays taken of his chest to see if there is progress. The x-ray taken today shows the infection is clearing up however, the chest tube has to remain in for couple days. The tube is causing Todd pain but it needs to stay in place to prevent further infections. The x-ray also shows Todd is responding favorably to the chemo. How favorably we don't know but this is a very very good thing. Todd is very weak and has lost a lot of weight. We are hoping his appetite will return soon. I am going to bring him some of his favorite sloppy joes tomorrow from town hall. I will keep you posted....

I certainly hope Dr. Boff gets well soon. Maybe a Giant victory in the Super Bowl will help cheer him up. It's been many years since I've seen Dr. Boff, but I have many fond recollections of him. I'm an old friend of Greg's and Dr. Boff used to take us to the Meadowlands track when we were in high school and college. I remember one night when Greg and I were getting our asses kicked at the betting window and we pounded the table at Dr. Boff's trackside dining spot and the bread bounced to a nearby table. He said we were embarrassing him and that he wasn't taking us back to the track ever again. Of course, he did, but we behaved better next time. Maybe that was because Greg used some of that Boff magic that he showed on the basketball court to make wagers that night. I wonder if Dr. Boff remembers those nights and all the fun we used to have. I'll certainly be thinking of him in my prayers and wishing him a speedy recovery. All the best to the Boff and Lerman families.
